Motivation Letter

Let's clarify what it is...

A motivation letter tells YOUR story, allowing you to showcase your interests, what drives you, and your enthusiasm for the company. A well-written letter can demonstrate that you align with the values and culture of the company, highlighting relevant knowledge and skills.

Explain why you want to intern/work at this company specifically and what you can contribute.

πŸ“Ž Structure:
‍
Purpose of the letter:
β€œI was very interested in your recent job posting at your architectural office and believe I’d be an ideal candidate for this role.”
‍
Why you want to work there
β€œI love your work, including <list and explain why>. / I admire your project <name>, as it <explanation>. / I’m drawn to your approach <explanation>, and would love to learn it myself.”

Highlight your skills
β€œI have knowledge in <describe your skills: construction, building economics, standards, etc.> and proficiency in <list software>. I consider myself <mention your soft skills and qualities as a professional>.”

Conclusion
‍
Finish the letter politely. For example, β€œI would be delighted to discuss this role with you and am available at your convenience. Thank you for your time and attention.”

πŸͺ Tip: Avoid mass emails! They can sometimes be open, and recipients may see each other’s addresses. Write more personalized letters to the places you really want to be.
